Our church is in the middle of Cubao and situated very close to where many homeless people sleep. Our aim is to reach out to these people and help them both physically and spiritually.

We run a drop in centre each Thursday night where they can take a shower, wash clothes, play games, chat, drink coffee and juice and then have a decent hot meal. After that we teach them for around 20 minutes from the Bible.

One of the greatest needs for the street people is to find work. Unemployment is high in the Philippines and those with no educational qualifications have very little chance of getting a good job.

There are street people who genuinely want to work but there is nothing available for them. Others are lazy and need encouragement to start taking responsibility for their lives. Many street people sort through rubbish, beg or steal in order to earn money. We want to give them dignity by helping them to be able to provide for their own needs. A job which is regular, fairly paid and with good working conditions.

The aim of our livelihood project is to make a self sufficient project that can be run as a business. We will employ street people and pay them a good wage. Any profit we make will be put straight back into the project. Every street person will be able to have a shower before they begin work and then have a free cooked meal in the middle of the day.

Through this project we aim to give dignity, discipline and fair wages to as many as we can.
