The street people of Cubao all have different stories and reasons for being on the street. Some are there due to abuse. Some have run away from problems.

Many have no employment and have ended up sleeping on the pavement, some have moved in from the provinces looking for work. Others are there because of laziness or drug and alcohol abuse.

All the time more and more children are being born on the streets and beginning a lifestyle from which it is so difficult to escape.

There are thousands and thousands of street people in Manila and they are of all ages. If you walk around at night you can see babies a few months old right through to old people in their sixties and seventies curled up on pieces of cardboard.
